This week has been incredibly boring, I went out with my dad and brother in the hopes of catching a nice movie, but there was nothing interesting enough, and I'm saving the last Harry Potter to watch with my best friend, HP is kinda a big deal for us, we play text-based rpg about the Potterverse today still, long story short we ended doing a bit of shopping, I love shopping, but I really wanted to watch a movie, so I ended up a little bummed out. I've been studying to my final exam which is tiring, not to mention boring. But I'm going out with some friends this Friday, something simple, probably a quiet bar, studying and hangover don't quite match. Besides studying I've been watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic like a bad habit, that's what you get from spending too much time on memebase, I just wanted to know what all the hype was about, and ended up being sucked right in.

I'm one of those people who believes All Sars weren't made to be washed, so I never did. I probably had them for four years, they're not too shabby considering how much I've worn them. They tell stories, I should have taken a close up so you could see all the writing on them, basically bands, anime characters, and silly things written by friends, that consist mainly of how irresistible they are and how badly I want to do them.

 Also, I've been liestening to Jónsi , love, love his songs, my current favourites are Lilikoi Boy and Animal Arithmetic

Eu sou o tipo de pessoa que acha que os All Stars não devem ser lavados, por isso nunca o fiz. Tenho-os provavelmente à quatro anos, não estão assim tão arruinados considerando o uso que tiveram.

Contam histórias, devia ter tirado uns close ups para lerem o que está escrito, basicamente bandas, personagens de anime, e coisas tolas escritas por amigos/as que consistem do quão irresistiveis eles são e o quanto eu quero saltar-lhes em cima.

  Tenho estado a ouvir Jónsi, adoro, adoro as músicas dele, as minhas favoritas são Lilikoi Boy e Animal Arithmetic.

I've been so busy  this week, hence not updating nor answering all your lovely comments; two exams down, two more to go, but those are only in the end of July so I can breath for a while. I didn't realize how late exam season was in Portugal until I started blogging, then again our school year starts quite late, and we have massive holidays. Besides stressing over exams, that weren't even all that hard, I re-discovered my love for Angry Birds, went on a diet, dropped said diet, had a very heated discussion about politics with friends, in a cafe filled to the brim with people who couldn't care less, and were very vocal about what they thought, started writing again, considered changing my cigarette brand, only to change my mind right after when I realized that John Player is the only man I'll ever love.

Estive super ocupada esta semana, daí não ter feito updates nem respondido aos vossos comentários; dois exames feitos, mais dois para fazer, mas essas são só no fim de Julho por isso posso respirar até lá. Não fazia ideia do quão tarde é a época de exames em Portugal até começar o blog, mas por outro lado o nosso ano escolar começa mais tarde e temos férias enormes.
Para além de stressar com exames, que nem sequer foram muito dificeis, re-descobri o meu amor por Angry Birds, comecei uma dieta, desisti da dieta, tive uma discussão acessa sobre política num café cheio de gente que não queria saber, e não tinha quaisquer pruridos em dizê-lo, comecei a escrever outra vez, considerei mudar de marca de cigarros, mas mudei de opinião quando percebi que o John Player é o homem da minha vida.
A vossa semana foi tão incrívelmente interessante como a minha?

This outfit was solely inspired by the shirt, I bought it months ago and never got to wear it, today I found it laying in the back of my closet and figured it was a day as good as any other to wear it. It has a very awkward cut so it can only be worn tucked in, to be completely honest I don't know how I feel about the whole outfit, too much pink, I'm kinda regretting the socks...but oh well. I should be revising for the exams, but I'm procrastinating which is typical. The only bright light in my horizon is Arraial Pride (the party before pride parade which is the weekend after), which I'm finally attending this year, the 25th can't come fast enough.

Will the swallows come again?

This is what I wore today when I went out with my best friend for some ice cream. There was a local Carnival around here the other day and she stayed over after we came back, we met up with some friends and had loads of fun, these kind of amusement fairs are very tacky, but when you're with friends even camping in your own backyard is fun.

Isto foi o que usei hoje quando fui com a minha melhor amiga comer gelados. Houve uma feira popular na minha zona, no outro dia, e depois de voltarmos ela ficou a dormir na minha casa, encontramo-nos com amigos e divertimo-nos imenso, este tipo de feiras é super piroso mas quando estamos com amigos até acampar no quintal é divertido.

Obrigada a todos aqueles que sugeriram livros no meu post anterior! Já agora, preferem as fotos deste tamanho ou mais pequenas como posto normalmente?

Not much to say, I have an extended weekend before school ends next week and then it's time for revisions for the exams, not looking forward to that at all.
I'm out of books to read, and it's  driving me crazy, it seems I can't find anything interesting these days. I don't like romance, I hate feel-good books where everything is rose tinted, I hate vampires/werewolves/aliens and westerns. I love Historical novels, crime fiction, biographies adapted to fiction (the dancer!). I already red everything Oscar Wilde, Marguerite Yourcenar, Mary Renault and Agatha Christie ever wrote so those are out, also the Harry Potter collection over six times. Do you have any suggestions?

Não tenho muito para dizer, este fim-de-semana é prolongado e para a semana a escola acaba e começam as revisões, não me apetece nada!
Estou sem livros para ler, parece que não consigo encontrar nada interessante estes dias. Odeio livros românticos, odeio literatura light, odeio vampiros/lobisomens/alianas e westerns. Adoro, Romance Histórico, policiais, biografias adaptadas a ficção (O Bailarino!).
Já li tudo o que Oscar Wilde, Marguerite Yourcenar, Mary Renault e Aagatha Christie alguma vez escreveram, por isso esses estão fora, também já li todos os Harry Potters mais de 6 vezes. Tem alguma sugestão?

I was feeling girly today, hence the cutesy dress. Everytime I go to Primark I indulge the girlier side of my style, while its edgier counterpart roams free at H&M, Zara and the likes. 

Everytime I decide to show my pasty legs, I always get hell either from friends or family, complaining about my lack of a tan, but the truth is, I quite like being pale (I can hear the gasps already).  I can't tan, I get sunburn that fades and leaves weird patches that make me look like I haven't showered in ages, and the ideia of a tanning bed, sounds as safe as taking a bath in nuclear waste, so pale it is!

And yes, in case you're wondering, I did go all Twiggy on my lower lashes.

You can tell I'm not inspired when the titles of my posts are lyrics. 

These photos came out terribly because they were shot when the sun was setting, my camera being the amazing point-and-shoot it is, refuses to take decent pictures with anything less than bright and blinding sunshine, which is why I'm squinting in most of the pictures. This outfit is completely meh, but I wanted to post something, because I wont have much time during the week. I'm going shopping next weekend so maybe I'll post a haul then? I don't know you'll see the clothes eventually in outfit posts, but by then maybe you can't find them in store anymore, the ones that aren't thrifted at least. What do you think?

Dá para ver que não estou inspirada quando os títulos dos posts são letras de músicas.

Estas fotos ficaram horríveis porque foram tiradas ao por do sol,  e a minha fantástica máquina digital recusa-se a tirar fotos decentes quando o sol está menos que mega-brilhante, motivo pelo qual estou quase sempre de olhos semi-cerrados na maioria das fotos. Este conjunto é completamente meh, mas quis postar alguma coisa porque acho que não vou ter muito tempo durante a semana. Vou às compras no próximo fim de semana, por isso talvez faça um haul? Eventualmente vão ver as roupas em posts futuros, mas talvez por essa altura não as encontrem nas lojas, as que não forem compradas em segunda mão, pelo menos. O que acham?

Favourite pieces of jewellery

 

I love jewellery, it can brighten up a boring outfit, make a seemingly strange combination of fabrics and colours look fabulous and I think it's overall the glue that binds fashion together.

I love necklaces and rings the most, only rarely do I wear bracelets and earrings, I do love piercings but those don't count as earrings, I believe, and since one of my ears is gouged I can only wear one earring which is usually a pearl of some kind. 

I get most of my jewellery from Primark, H&M and Zara, or they are hand-me-downs from family members or something I got from a Vintage fair or flea market.

 

  

These are the rings I find myself wearing the most, except for the one with the black gem and the double finger ring, that are both from Primark, everything else is from H&M.
